Cheerios

So the other day my cell rang and it was a client from work calling. I quickly assessed the situation... Emma Claire was sitting happily in her high chair eating a few cheerios and Benjamin was playing nicely with his trains in the playroom. They were both safe and occupied, so I stepped into the living room to take the call in relative quiet without the sounds of a baby and Thomas the Train in the background. :)

The call only lasted a few minutes, but during the call I heard Emma whimper a bit and then get quiet again (and I heard enough happy noises to know that she was okay).

When the call ended and I returned to the kitchen, I quickly figured out what her noises meant. Apparently, she had finished all of her cheerios and began whimpering for some more, a sound that clearly, her brother understands, because he was quick to assess the situation and help his sister out:
And her lap after I took the tray away:
And the floor, which, all things considered, could have been much worse:

I'm sure they whispered to each other, "That'll keep her from leaving us next time the phone rings!" Well done, kiddos!

haha!! I'm at work and am dying laughing at the nurses station. I particularly like your wording on this one, since I have to "assess" so much in my job. Maybe we've got some furture nurses or doctors on our hands!
